Student led parent conferences last at the Greatest School went very well! Students were knowledgeable about and excited to show ownership of their own learning when sharing with their families. The students were using their data binders to share their strengths, areas to improve, and goals. Research shows there are great gains to be made in learning when a student understands and takes ownership over their learning with goal setting and timely self-asssessment. That is just what happened at Eastside last night!
Before and after conferences, we also had a great turn out to visit our STEAM Lab. Mrs. Havens and Mrs. Barnhart, among other staff members spent their evening in the Lab facilitating activities. Students were building with legos, steering robots through a course on the floor, and problem solving in making marble tracks! Parents and families even got in on the hands-on fun.
We are so proud of our students and the goals they are setting and objectives they are mastering. Thank you to everyone who came out to support our students!
