First grade students were out and about in the halls of Eastside yesterday searching for 2-Dimensional figures. In the classroom, students were shown examples and given directions for the scavenger hunt. Once out in the builidng, they looked, charted, explained, and shared the 2-D shapes they saw in real life. They were so excited to share what they knew with those passing by as well as classmates. Providing these real world applications to what we learn in the classroom is so important and takes you out of the classroom walls from time to time!
