Reciprocal Teaching is a strategy where the students take ownership of the classroom, and become the teachers of the content. Teachers at EES have been studying different strategies that were studied by researcher John Hattie. Every Teacher in the building was challenged to use the reciprocal teaching method in the classroom. Students took ownership and ran with it. There was rich learning going on, where the students were teaching their peers. Some classrooms gave individual jobs like summarizer, clarifiyer, and question creater. The students really enjoyed working in groups, and gave them accountability in the classroom!
